include a copy of words, lyrics, recipes, etc. that you would send home. This is also where you will cite any books used in the preparation of the lesson, and read to the class during the lesson. 12. Motivation/Introduction:a.Correlate the motivation to prior knowledge or experience (connect to children’s previous knowledge by using a concrete/visual/technological object related to the activity, but not used in the next section of the procedure).b.Describe how you will interest the children and help them know what to do.c.Explain how you will use the object. Be specific with how you will manipulate the object and the questions you will ask about it. Include a question that relates the object to the children’s personal experience. d.Include the targeted vocabulary that you will introduce/review that is connected to the classroom theme. e.Indicate where the activity will begin (at the table, in a specific center, on the floor, at circle, etc.).f.At the end of the motivation create a bridge to the next section with a statement that connects the motivation to the procedures. If children need to move to a new area for the procedures include a transition that is related to the theme and moves children individually or in small groups. 13.
